Any way you slice it, pizza is a popular food around the world.

According to Technomic’s 2016 Consumer Trend Report, pizza consumption is on the rise with consumers “averaging 4 pizza occasions” per month, up from 3.4 in 2014.

Not only are we eating more of it, 39 percent of consumers say that fresh and unique toppings like arugula and buffalo mozzarella are highly important in creating a good pizza, up from 32 percent a year ago.
